I’ve had a very trying, very eventful past few weeks. My youngest son, was rushed to the hospital on his 7th-month birthday. We thought we were gonna lose him. This was probably the worst day for me as a parent & I couldn’t forget the feeling of being despondent & helpless during that time. I still tear up when I remember the stuff that transpired that day. He’s doing a lot better now.
My eldest on the other hand celebrated his 2nd birthday. Man, how time flies. I love my boys.
Dawn, my wife is the strongest lady I know. She held it together even when I thought I was about to break down. She is the best! I love her!
Good times, bad times. Life is weird & I thank God for all His goodness to me & my family.

Our (Dark Chaps & I) first collaboration!
The X-Men are all over the place right now, especially since their latest movie just made a gajillion dollars at the box-office. So since we love the X-Men & as our way of celebrating their 50th year (51 this year), here is our tribute to the original 5 (6 including Professor X) members. First up…
Iceman!
Drawing by me, colors by Dark Chapel.
This was inspired by Mike Mitchell's wonderful superhero profiles.

Hi everyone,

Twenty-five years ago, on May 17, 1989, I drove over to the tiny little Kinko’s copy shop at Golf and Roselle in Schaumburg, and printed 18 copies of my new zine, King-Cat Comics #1.  So happy birthday, King-Cat!

I just want to take a moment and thank everyone who’s helped me through these 25 years— all the friends, family, and readers that have made this possible.  I couldn’t, and I wouldn’t, have done it without you.

Today I’m in Fort Wayne, Indiana, standing behind my table at the Appleseed Con, an appropriate place to be all these years later, I think.  There are few things I love more than comics, and it’s been a privilege to be a part of this world.  Thanks!

John P.

I wouldn’t be making comics if it weren’t for John P. & King-Cat Comics. They have inspired / continue to inspire the stuff I do.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KING-CAT!

Presenting Dawn Legaspi’s (my wife) alternate cover for ???#3! If budget permits, I’ll have a limited number of copies printed in color & this will be the cover.
